For more than two decades, the Brookline Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce (BTCC) has taken root in the Greater Boston community. From the first term led and inspired by founding president Sheng Yu, through the dedication and stewardship of each successive president, a seed planted to support Taiwanese people in the region has grown into a strong and flourishing tree.
Like many long-standing community organizations, BTCC has faced the challenge of generational transition. Yet every challenge can become an opportunity. Beginning with the 11th president, Meng Chieh Lee, continuing through the 12th president, Sarah Chen, and now under the leadership of the 13th president, Kuan Chen, BTCC has entered a period of renewed energy and younger leadership. This is more than a change in title; it is a new infusion of action, creativity, and momentum.
One of BTCC’s most meaningful values is shared prosperity. Even as a younger generation steps forward, the senior leaders and longtime supporters of the chamber have never been absent. They continue to participate, advise, and provide the experience that gives the next generation a strong foundation. This spirit of three generations working together allows BTCC to move boldly toward the future while remaining grounded in a steady legacy.
Beyond supporting Taiwanese business owners, professionals, and families through networking and mutual assistance, BTCC has also expanded its role beyond commerce. The chamber is increasingly involved in promoting Taiwanese culture, supporting education, and participating in charitable initiatives. We believe that true influence is built not only through business success, but also through positive contributions to society.
To further strengthen the visibility and impact of Taiwanese people in Greater Boston, we formally established the Brookline Taiwanese Chamber Foundation (BTCF). BTCF will work alongside BTCC to promote Taiwanese values and culture, and to help that spirit shine more brightly overseas.
With the founding of BTCF, we also created a new visual identity for both BTCC and BTCF. The logo is centered around the symbol of infinity. The gold outline of Taiwan represents our shared origin and original intention, while the deep blue Boston skyline reflects the place where we meet, live, work, and build community together. The interweaving of gold and blue symbolizes the blending of legacy and innovation. As we continue bridging Taiwan and Boston, we carry forward the warmth left by earlier generations and step into the future with a renewed sense of purpose.
We invite you to join us and work together for Taiwan. BTCC is a warm, energetic, and welcoming community. If you share the passion to strengthen Taiwan’s presence, build meaningful friendships in Boston, and create opportunities together, we warmly welcome you. Let us write the next twenty years of BTCC’s story together.
Respectfully invited by Kuan Chen, 13th President of BTCC and BTCF, together with the Board of Directors.
